The 18k gold case on this IWC Amalfi chronograph is reminiscent of an early Patek Philippe 2499 with its stepped/contoured lugs and 18k oval chronograph pushers. This is a fantastic watch that offers a lot for the price. Original 18k gold case measures 40mm diameter by 14.2mm thick. Crystal is gently domed sapphire. Crown screws down for water resistance. Case is constructed from three parts: a generously sized smooth bezel, massive mid-body, and screw back. Once again, the lugs are contoured, which is a sophisticated design touch.
