The "réveil" with hand-wound movement has not been produced or offered by Maurice Lacroix for a long time. For this reason, and of course due to the fact that you are bidding on an almost unworn piece in absolute top condition, a steady increase in value is guaranteed if this luxury watch continues to be treated with care.
The roughly comparable last alarm model in the Masterpiece collection, the "réveil Globe", currently costs 4,850.00 eur in the stainless steel / 18K gold version, but is, in my opinion, nowhere near as beautiful to look at as the Les mécaniques Masterpiece model offered here.
Description and condition of the watch:
The watch offered here comes from a private collection and, judging by its condition, has only been worn a few times (if at all) and with the utmost care. Accordingly, and especially considering its age, it is in truly outstanding condition.
There are no deep scratches, dents, abrasions or "impacts" etc. on the case, the lugs, the crowns or the two sapphire crystals. The fine abrasion marks on the highly polished case parts (super-fine micro-scratches) that always and immediately occur when a watch is worn and stored for many years are, of course, not completely absent here either, but are unusually minimal and can only be detected on very, very close inspection (magnifying glass?), but under no circumstances when the watch is worn "normally" (although I must of course mention this here).
The beautiful, handcrafted, midnight blue Maurice Lacroix crocodile print genuine leather strap is brand new and will certainly give you a lot of pleasure for a very long time.
The case, the back cover ring and the lugs are made entirely from elegant but "unpretentious" stainless steel.
The beautifully fluted bezel, however, and this is precisely what makes this watch so marvelously beautiful, is made entirely of solid 18K (750) yellow gold.
The crowns share these two precious materials and are each topped with an onyx cabochon (round-cut gemstone) to further emphasize the quality of this watch.
The two crystals are naturally made of scratch-resistant sapphire crystal.
