The Watch Here we have a 2023 TAG Heuer Aquaracer Solargraph with a 40mm Black DLC-coated stainless steel case that curves over your wrist with thick tapered lugs, a lug-to-lug length of 47mm and a case thickness of 12mm, giving the watch an impressive wrist presence. On the right side, we have a signed screw-down crown with deep knurling for extra grip and protection by crown guards. The unidirectional DLC-coated bezel has a carbon insert with a lumed 60-minute scale and deep knurling for grip. A flat sapphire crystal sits above a dynamic black dial with a horizontal striped pattern, slightly transparent to allow the light to charge the movement; an outer minute chapter ring with pale blue highlights surrounds applied trapezoid indexes infilled with Super LumiNova marking the hours and at 3 o’clock a framed colour-matched date window. Steel hands filled with Super-LumiNova are complemented by a pale blue tapered second-hand. At 12 o’clock, we have the "Aquaracer" above the TAG Heuer motif and at 6 o’clock “, Solargraph” “200M/ 660FT. On the reverse is a screw-down solid DLC-coated case back engraved with the details of the watch around its edge, a stylised sun embossed in the centre, and inside a quality Solar Quartz movement. It is made in collaboration with La Joux-Perret, which is owned by Citizen. It comes paired with its original TAG Heuer 20mm cut black rubber strap with a signed push-button-released folding clasp; it will fit up to a 6.8-inch plus an uncut and unopened TAG rubber strap. Personal Note I have always been a fan of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer, and the reference WBD2113 was one of my favourites when I first started in the trade, and I would still like to own one, one day. This is the Black DLC 40mm Soloargraph Aquaracer, featuring an impressive lumed bezel, which is incredible to see in the dark when charged up. As the name suggests, this is powered by the sun, and it is great to see this being used more commercially by more brands than just Citizen. I would not hesitate to add this watch to your collection. It comes with a brand new and uncut rubber strap in the box, and you are getting yourself a great saving on the retail price!
The Brand Edouard Heuer founded The Heuer Watch Company in 1860 in St. Imier, Switzerland. Chronographs have been the mainstay for Heuer and later TAG Heuer. They feature many models and configurations, expanding the possibilities to the full. In 1958, Jack Heuer, Edouard’s son, joined the company. In 1962, the first generation of Autavia was launched. Famously worn in the 1970s by Formula One drivers such as Derek Bell, Jacky Ickx, Emerson Fittipaldi, Clay Regazzoni, Mario Andretti, and many more. They sponsored the 1985 Marlboro McLaren Formula 1 racing team and, after 30 years, proudly sponsored RED Bull Racing in 2015. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton S.A. offered a bid in 1999 that was accepted by TAG Heuer. From 2025, they will return to be the official timekeepers for F1, with LVMH signing a 10-year contract.
